The Spring/Summer 2012 Edition of The Woodlands Discovery Guide and Savings Book is now available! The Guide was created by The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau (TWCVB) and is published two times a year. This edition runs from April until the end of August, and is chock-full of great savings as well as great places for you to go throughout the 8 million square feet of shopping, dining, hospitality and entertainment in The Woodlands.
The book was produced by Newton Design and Marketing’s own Media Mastermind, Kelli Martin and Artist Extraordinaire, Elizabeth “Liz” Ha. Kelli, who was the Project Manager for the guide, coordinated all merchants; past guide participants as well as new members. “We want every merchant in The Woodlands Township to have an opportunity to participate in the Discovery Guide,” Kelli said. “It is really a great way for them to showcase their business to potential customers!”
Liz was the Designer for the project. She created a new look and feel for the Discover guide by using photos from the TWCVB archive and she also created a brand new layout. “It was a great project to be a part of,” said Liz who has been creating for Newton for almost a year. “Once a merchant decides they want to participate, I design a coupon based on their offer, by either using their logo to create one, edit the coupon that they used last year, or if the merchant prefers, I will use new artwork.” With coupons arriving at various times, Liz is constantly rearranging the booklet in order to keep the alphabetical order correct and making changes to coupons based on comments from the merchants.
TWCVB created the guide to encourage visitors from the Greater Houston area and beyond to come and experience all that The Woodlands has to offer. The Guide is mailed directly to the homes/businesses of those who request it through TWCVB website at as well as distributed at local events and to groups that host meetings, events or conventions in The Woodlands. The booklet is promoted throughout the Greater Houston area via extensive public relations efforts as well as our destination marketing efforts.
