I am glad our debut is right before summer because it is Hot!! With every issue, you can look forward to being in “the know” In and around town. There are always so many fabulous events happening around The Woodlands that my social calendar stays full! The fact that I get to share it with all of you motivates me to not miss anything. I always have so much fun representing On the Town Magazine and Newton Design and Marketing at each of these events.

I have to start with Woodlands Area Ladies Night at Crescent Moon Wine Bar. The ladies support Interfaith of The Woodlands while shopping and networking once per month. Each month has a different theme and March’s theme was Mix and Match Fashions from Interfaith Hand Me Up Shop, Langford Market (a killer boutique on market street), and Stella & Dot jewelry. Arbonne took our daytime look to an evening look with just a few strokes of a make-up brush. I must give props to my personal stylist Courtney Schweitzer for putting together an amazing fashion show. It must be said that Jessica Peters was the life of the fashion show; and I really hope my videographer Jake Wynant, got all of that! Go Check out the video on the Newton Design and Marketing YouTube Channel. Woodlands Area Ladies Night will be hosted at Genuwine on April 16th and June 18th and The Refuge on May 15th ,. Check their Facebook page for more details. www.facebook.com/woodlandsladiesnight

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce annual golf tournament ispartially a fundraising venture for selected chamber programs but it is also about bringing the members together. I caught up with Paco Rivera and Keaton McDaniel when they were getting ready to tee off and it looked as though these two guys are serious about their golf game! The last time I looked at the board as the tournament was wrapping up these two guys were in 1st place and way under par for their course. Sorry I had to! Chamber board members, J.J. Hollie, Lou Ann Tiger and Chairman of the Board Amy Milstead also teamed up for the tournament! As you can see the less than perfect weather did cooperate and did not rain us out thank goodness.
It was due to the hard work of the chamber staff that this day was successful. Huge thanks to Teresa Starr; Leah Forney; and
Carmen Smiley especially for keeping me company while everyone else played golf! There were numerous sponsors including Top Golf, Bowlero Newton Design, and HEB. I had the chance to speak with Chamber President Karen Hoylman and she said “this is our best tournament yet and this is an event I get really excited for every year. This is a wonderful opportunity for our members to introduce their clients to the chamber while enjoying a fantastic day networking with one another”

The 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month Women on a Mission to Earn Commission or Woamtec meet at Amerigo’s for their semi-monthly luncheon (pictured left). These ladies (and a few brave men) are always supporting one another in so many ways. Exemplifying that spirit is my good friend Kimm Dwyer, breast cancer survivor; and Calynn Perkins of I go Pink breast cancer charities. There will be another fundraiser in the very near future; a 5K run and they could really use your support. For more information go to www.thepink5k.com. Woamtec is a category exclusive business networking group and if you are trying to build your business I highly recommend visiting one of the local groups and make sure to tell them I sent you!

It is not a big secret that I am a Ford fanatic. I mean seriously I met my Husband in a Ford Dealership!!! I own two beautiful Mustangs and so I jumped at the opportunity to attend the Northside Mustang Car Club’s Meeting and 5th annual car show at Gullo Ford recently. Come on girls, now I know I am not the only girl around town that loves beautiful and fast cars because I saw a few of you at Gullo Ford On Saturday!! One of my favorites was the 2011 Mustang GT that won 2nd place in its class
and is owned by Robert Starnes. Another absolutely righteous car was a 1966 Mustang owned by Sammy Cook. I met the board members of Northside Mustang Car Club President Chlee Green, Treasurer Cathy McBryde, and Secretary Andy Garcia gave me a warm welcoming on a cold and crummy day. The slow stroll through the rows and rows of Mustangs seemed to warm me up some because I really did not notice how cold it was once I started paying attention to the cars.
